It's almost hard to mess Chinese food up, yet somehow they have. Their food has to be the most unappetizing Asian meals I've seen even when compared to mall fare. Most of their food is bland, and the only half way decent thing they had was crab rangoon. Plus the wait for food was excessively long when I ordered there. There's better options in the area, much better.

I had a coupon for Wok's Cooking. I had never been there, so I decided to try it out. Wok's Cooking is in a strip mall on Street Road next to a standalone gaudy wings restaurant. Hmm, I guess I don't know if that wings place is gaudy, but their sign sure is. Knowing that it is next to that makes Wok's a bit harder to miss. It's interior is a little bit run down but, comfortable. They have a ton of those booths where you sit down and sort of sink down into the earth. They also have pleasant hotel grade artwork hanging throughout the place. I look at strip mall Chinese food as similar to a chain restaurant. From strip mall to strip mall across the country you pretty much know exactly what you are going to get. Happily, unlike the chains, rarely you will come upon a gem that knocks you over with the quality of their food. Wok's does not make it as a rarely found gem. But, it does safely land in the comfortable world of an average strip mall find. Their specials come with soup and rice - that is what both my dining partner and I ordered. She had the duck. Which, I didn't taste, but she had good things to say about. I had chicken and shrimp in a brown sauce with vegetables. We started our meal with fried won-ton. Which was very good - plenty of meat and the dough was nice and crispy. This was followed by more won-tons - in soup form! The won-ton soup was woefully below average. It had an odd taste, and the won-tons were awfully chewy. My entree was pretty good. There was plenty of shrimp and chicken and the brown sauce had a good taste. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, as you can find the same food in plenty of other places. But, if you are in the area and looking for a place to eat it's worth stopping in. The food is good, they supply large portions, and the prices are reasonable.

I'm always scared to order chicken from most places because it usually tastes like mystery meat. I ordered sesame chicken and it was very good and looked and tasted like real chicken. It was a little dry but still good.

Love the green triple delight prepared spicy! I take turns adding chicken or shrimp. Delicious and very reasonable prices.

Food and service are both terrible. I will never go back there again. The host and server felt bothered to serve customers. I didn't even finish my meal that's how bad the service/food was. Not sure how this place stays in business.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
